Event Updates

At 1104 hrs on Sunday, 7 May 2017, the Singapore Cycling Federation (SCF), in consultation with the President of the Commissaires’ Panel (PCP) and the Race Director, made a collective decision to stop the Men’s Open event due to a heavy downpour and a Category 1 lightning alert. The prize presentation ceremony also had to be called off due to unsafe conditions.

While the SCF will endeavour to re-schedule the Men’s Open event to a later date, we cannot confirm this at this time. There are challenges which would have to be addressed including (a) our ability to obtain approval from the relevant authorities including the Traffic Police, the Land Transport Authority, (b) availability of funds to organise the event as we have already committed our limited funds towards the organisation of the OCBC Cycle Team Time Trial (2 Apr 2017) and the upcoming OCBC Cycle National Championship (Criterium on 21 May 2017) and the OCBC Cycle National MTB Championship (23 Jul 2017) and (c) agreement of the UCI for the postponement of the Men’s Open event.

As for the prize presentation ceremony for the completed events (ITT), this will be held on the same day as the Criterium scheduled for 21 May 2017.
